The haat was inaugurated by HC Justice Kalpeshbhai Zaveri on November 18 and will continue till November 27.
The concept of the haat is a brainchild of social activist and craft conservationist Jaya Jaitly and her Dastkari Haat Samiti, with a mission to bring forth exciting craft talent and traditions in a never-seen-before avatar. Add to the experience the fact that the artisans presenting their works are an eclectic mix of national-awardees and artisans-in-training, who create products that are utilitybased and marketfriendly.
Each come with their expertise, which they are willing to share right there with anyone who is interested. They have already hosted workshops for children and design students of institutes like NID.
Also at the haat you get a plethora of delicious, authentic food from Rajasthan, the North-East and the like to satiate one’s love for food and entertainment. Daily folk-shows by artists from Gujarat and Rajasthan, puppet shows for kids and innovative designs makes the haat a complete entertainment gateway.
